What is the Costa Daurada?
 

The Costa Dorada extends along approximately 216 kilometers of coastline, from the municipality of Cunit to the Ebro Delta. Among its main tourist destinations are Salou, Cambrils, Tarragona, La Pineda and Sitges, each with its own charm. .

It is an internationally renowned tourist destination that combines beautiful beaches, culture, delicious cuisine and a wide variety of activities for all audiences, making it an ideal place to visit and enjoy with the family.

Coves

 

Cala Jovera

It is a small cove about 100 meters long with golden sand and crystal clear waters, surrounded by cliffs and pine forests, which gives it a calm and natural environment. There is no rental of umbrellas or beach bars, so it is important to bring everything you need to spend the day, including water, food and sun protection.

Location: It is located in the province of Tarragona, near the municipality of Tamarit, in the Tarragonès region.

Access: It can be a bit complicated since there is no direct access by car, but it can be reached on foot from different nearby points, such as the Tamarit urbanization or Móra beach. From these points, there are trails that lead to the cove.

It is located in a natural environment, surrounded by cliffs and vegetation, which together with the combination of crystal clear waters makes it the ideal place for those seeking peace and tranquility. Unlike some busier beaches, the cove is usually a quiet place. There is no rental of umbrellas or beach bars, so it is important to bring everything you need to spend the day, including water, food and sun protection.

Location: Located in L'Ametlla de Mar, a coastal town in the province of Tarragona.

Access: Easy and comfortable thanks to the presence of ramps and stairs, it has a designated area for parking vehicles.

Cala Pixavaques

Cala Vidre

Cala Vidre is a secluded and small-sized cove with fine sand, surrounded by cliffs and vegetation. The waters are crystal clear and shallow. It is a perfect place to enjoy the sun, sand and sea in a quiet and uncrowded environment. It is surrounded by a stunning natural landscape, with rocky cliffs and vegetation, so it is important to bring everything you need to spend the day, including food, drink and sunscreen.

Location: It is located in the coastal town of Ametlla de Mar, in the province of Tarragona.

Access: It is a cove that is difficult to access. It can be accessed just a foot from the national highway N-340 following a path that descends towards the coast. It can also be reached by boat from the port of Ametlla de Mar.

Tamarit Castle

It was built in the 11th century, which makes it a place full of stories and mysteries. Its design and structure represent the military architecture of the medieval period, so you can see walls, towers, moats and an impressive natural environment with views of the sea.

It is a Gothic-Renaissance construction with a historicist and romantic spirit, made up of different fortified bodies, among which a crenellated side tower stands out.

Currently the castle is a privately owned residential house and you are not allowed to visit its interior, but even so, the exteriors are wonderful and the town is also worth a visit.

Location: within the municipal area of Tarragona, in Ferran, between Tamarit and Altafulla.

Access: Easy access by car with parking space in the town.

The Costa Daurada has up to sixty fine sand beaches, with comfortable and progressive access to the sea, as well as cliffs from which to enjoy dreamlike views and sunsets. In addition, many of its municipalities have the Blue Flag distinction, guaranteeing the quality of the water, the cleanliness of the sand and the services offered, making it an ideal destination to enjoy its beaches throughout the year.
